Manager Anne Holm (Co-founder and owner):
Over the years I have been teaching at the occupational and physical therapist
education at Odense and Aarhus University. I have arranged several conferences
at the Collage for Municipalities and Counties in Denmark. And I have often
been appointed as an external examiner at the School for Social and Health
Care Education.
From 1982 to 1989 I was the Danish representative in the Nordic Council (a cooperation between the Scandinavian countries) in the field of technical
aids for mentally retarded persons. I have held various lectures and participated
in several symposiums in Denmark, Europe, Japan and other overseas countries.
Also I have taken part in many radio and television programs.
My connection with Japan started in 1988 where I was invited to take part
in a symposium in Tokyo arranged by the magazine AERA together with the
Danish minister of social affairs Aase Olesen. Since then I have been to Japan more than 30 times. I have as a consultant visited many hospitals, nursing
homes and other institutions for elderly and handicapped and given advice
to the management and staff personnel.
In 1997 I was invited to lecture about the Danish welfare system arranged
by the European Commission at a symposium at Palace Hotel, Tokyo. In 1998
I was invited by the Mainichi Newspaper in Osaka to participate in a symposium
named: “The barrier-free society”.
During the recent years my husband and I have arranged certificated courses
in Denmark for Japanese students and social and health care staff. These courses are arranged in close cooperation with the Ministry of
Social Affairs, the regions and municipalities of Denmark. In addition
to that I have given lectures in Japan every year latest in April 2013.
My husband died from cancer in August 2010, but I will continue our common
engagement with our second country Japan.
Compendiums published:
- "The role of an occupational therapist in the development of
technical aids"
- "Analysis of the technical aid area in Denmark in order to obtain
a better use of resources".
Benny Holm (Co-founder):
After graduating high school, I started work as a freelance journalist. But a few years later I decided to pursue a career in the business world. I started my own company in the wine industry importing primary french wine to the danish consumer market.
In 1988 I began as sales director in a Danish company which produced technical aid equipment for the disabled. In 1988 I went to Japan with my wife to participate
in a social conference. During my stay in Japan I decided to focus my work
on the Japanese market.
Since then I have visited Japan 29 times and have often been invited by the European Union (EU) to cooperate with
the Japanese Ministry of Social Affairs to make improvements within the
area of care and technical aid equipment. I have functioned as a consultant in the internal configuration
of newly-built residential homes in Japan. I have arranged a great number of professional technical study visits
for Japanese specialists to the nursing care sector in Denmark, including
municipals, institutions etc..
I established Fukushi Academy Bellinge with my wife Anne in 2003. (Died
Aug 2010)
